We discuss constraints on new light particles, specifically light dark sector particles interacting with the visible sector through dark forces, from white dwarf cooling and supernova energy-loss arguments.  The constraints obtained are complementary to standard constraints from beam-dump experiments, electron-positron colliding experiments, fixed-target experiments, anomalous magnetic moment measurements and rare meson decay measurements.
