Titre : Lactide Polymerization Catalyzed by Manganese Complexes.

Résumé : Nowadays, poly lactide (PLA) is of great interest because of its green characteristics, such as being biodegradable. In the process of converting lactide to PLA, catalysts that are able to yield good polymer molecular weight control and specific stereoselectivity are of more value. The main limitation of most of these catalysts is their sensitivity to air and moisture, which makes them unfavorable for industrial usage. Our goal is to design catalysts that not only have good control and high selectivity but are also robust and non toxic, which is important for industrial purposes. Thus, our first attempt has been the design of tetradentate manganese catalysts with a phenyloxide ligand that are resistant to air and moisture. Despite their moderate activity and atacticity, these complexes have shown good polymer molecular weight control..
