Résumé: Carbohydrates units play an important role in cell recognition. Therefore, glycopolymers may be especially suited for biomedical and pharmaceutical applications. We also incorporated betulin, a hydrophobic compound with antitumor activities found in the birch trees, into the glycopolymers. We have synthesized both random and block copolymers based on these biomolecules and studied these self-assembling properties and the loading and release of model drug molecules.
