The Community University Partnership Programme has been enabling partnerships between the University of Brighton and its local communities since 2003.   Based on principles of mutual benefit, open access for communities and addressing disadvantage it has responded to thousands of community enquiries and seeded hundreds of partnerships projects.  Now via funding from the UK Research Councils it is examining how best to sustain these partnerships as a platform for public engagement with research.  David Wolff will talk about the support programme they have developed, how to pursue an enabling culture for the work and plans for the next phase of the project.

David Wolff has been the Director of the Community University Partnership Programme (CUPP) since its inception in 2003, regularly teaching and researching on the topic. Prior to this David worked in the community and voluntary sector in the fields of homelessness, advice and information services, project management and in the use of IT. He has occupied roles as a volunteer, service delivery worker, manager, director and consultant. He is a Commissioner for the Brighton and Hove Fairness Commission and a Fellow of the RSA.

The presentation will be followed by ample time for questions. The event will begin promptly at 11:00 am EST.
