Abstract: In this talk, I will present the ongoing theoretical activities on fractional quantum Hall fluids at the Pitaevskii BEC Center. In the first part of the talk, I will review observable signatures of the anyonic statistics of the quasi-hole excitations in the bulk, including braiding experiments, the density profiles of quasi-holes, and the scattering of anyon-polarons. In the second part, I will present numerical experiments on the dynamics of edge excitations and I will sketch a generalized chiral Luttinger liquid theory that is able to accurately capture the numerical observations for the linear and non-linear dynamics in response to external excitations. In the final part, I will sketch ongoing work on the behaviour of constrictions in the fluid as an element for quantum non-linear optics of edge excitations.
